CREATE A PRINCETON TIGERS ATHLETICS BRAND CAMPAIGN IDENTITY SYSTEM FOR USE BY NON-DESIGNERS FOR ITS’ 37 TEAMS DURING THE 2019-2020 SEASON.
PRINCETON UNIVERSITY PROJECT OBJECTIVE
CREATIVE FREEDOM WITHIN A TEMPLATE FRAMEWORK
Gameplan Creative developed a Princeton branded “look and feel” for their sports teams for print, social media, motion graphics and video animations uses. The overall design framework was developed to be very flexible within a standardized template system. The Princeton brand asset “tool kit” was developed for easy use by Tigers athletic dept. stake owners (none who have experience as graphic designers) which presented Gameplan Creative with a unique challenge and opportunity. The Princeton brand visual system provided the storied universities’ athletic directors, marketing managers and social media assistants with clear creative direction, a series of easy-to-use visual templates and graphics organized and prioritized to optimize the Ivy League 37 team sports assets.

THE TIGERS BRANDED VISUAL TOOL KIT HAS BEEN USED SUCCESSFULLY BY THE UNIVERSITIES ATHLETICS STAFF IN REAL-TIME ELIMINATING THE NEED TO RELY ON PRINCETON CREATIVE DEPARTMENT TO GENERATE CONTENT FOR ITS ‘TEAMS.
Official Tigers colors, the DIN font, team logos, patterns and brand appropriate graphic elements such: Princeton architecture, dynamic crops of the Tigers logo, heavy use of the familiar orange and black. Range and flexibility are of the utmost importance since the brand system had to be applied over 37 men’s and women’s Princeton sports.
Gameplan Creative generated a series of branded Princeton motion graphics and video animations designed to be visual extensions of the Tigers ’19-’20 season campaign including social media updates/alerts as well as videoboard animations including player intros, screen savers, pump-ups, transitions and game presentation enhancements.
